The visual shapes and character of a car is difficult to capture in one single shot. Throughout his career as a car designer, Andrew Barber has sought different styles that give him the freedom to completely capture the character of a car.
The method Barber now uses in his artworks was created after many iterations. It starts with merging several images together, as if they belong to a film. Here, he uses both the positive and negative images where the negative-images create a moving and playful effect.
Over the years, Barber has taken many classic and modern cars as the basis for his art. He creates the artwork from digital technology and then prints it on 'brushed' aluminium.
Barber is convinced of his own sophisticated technique and we have to admit that we completely agree with him. Both as art prints and, also in Aluminium, the designs are very impressive.
