This artwork was created in honour of Gilles Villeuve and his Ferrari 126C. From 1978, Villeneuve drove for the Ferrari team and immediately won his home race at the Montreal circuit. Over the next few years, he won a total of six races and was best known for his 'do or die' driving style. Villeneuve always went flat out and, as a result, did not always get along with his teammate. Emotions between him and Didier Pironi ran high after the Imola GP, for instance, where Pironi ignored a team order and overtook Villeneuve to run away with victory. Villeneuve decided never to exchange another 1 word with Pironi, which he unfortunately took very literally.<\/p>\n
On 8 May 1982, Gilles Villeneuve retaliated at the Zolder circuit during the last qualifying session.<\/p>\n
AFTER THE RACE is a duo born out of true friendship. A friendship between Jean-Denis Claessens and Edmond Thonnard (aka Pogo). Jean-Denis is a graphic designer, skilled entrepreneur and, since childhood, fond of cars. Pogo is a versatile painter and artist, with vast experience in street art.<\/p>\n
These two Belgians are proud to make this unique product together. The techniques they employ are innovative, bold and quirky.<\/p>\n
